Sycamore Class have learnt how to use a non fiction text effectively during their Reading lessons, learnt about coding in computing and in English have worked very hard identifying the short, simple sentences, compound and complex sentences in their text.

In reading, the children learnt how to use a non-fiction text effectively to find information. The children had a sheet with questions and they had to use the contents and index page to find the page they would need to find the information for the answers. The children used their scanning skills to find the relevant information they needed. Sycamore Class learnt about coding in computing. The children reviewed their existing coding knowledge, looked at simplifying longer codes and began to create a playable game using their own codes. In English, Sycamore Class have worked very hard identifying the short, simple sentences, compound and complex sentences in our text this unit. The children learnt and identified the impact these types of sentences have on the effect of the reader and the rhythm in which the book is read.
